Deathbringer Saurfang Down

Posted by StromgaldJanuary 13, 2010 at 5:39 pm
The C.R.A. successfully downed Deathbringer Saurfang last night for the first time.  Congrats to everyone who participated in helping us clear the first wing of the Icecrown Citadel.  With the downing of Saurfang comes our first T10 tokens which were won by Eleanorr and Snowdragon.  Next up are Rotface and Festergut, a couple real hawties.  Keep up the good work all.

In other guild news:  We had great participation in our "Name the new guild" forum topic.  As most of you know, we have begun plans to merge our two guilds, Knight Club & Now Playing, into one raiding guild in preparation for Cataclysm.  We hope to have the name narrowed down by the end of the month, so your time is running out to contribute.  If you have a desire to see some of the older instances and raids there is some growing interest in putting together some grps for these so chime in and offer your services.  Also last month we concluded our NFL Survival contest and congrats goes out to Recently and Snowdragon for being the only two left standing following the last week of the season.  Lastly, be sure to check out our Epic Recipe Crafters list for anyone that is looking to have some of the ilvl 245 items crafted.

Lord Marrowgar Down

Posted by StromgaldDecember 14, 2009 at 1:28 pm
Patch 3.3 has arrived and with it a new Raid Dungeon, Icecrown Citadel (ICC).  This new raid instance is home of the Lich King!  Already we have snuffed out the early strategies for the first 4 bosses being released with ICC.  Our first night of raiding ICC proved successful as we were able to down Lord Marrowgar, congrats to all!  Keep up the good work.

In other guild news:  We had three big winners in the latest "Guess the patch date" contest.  Also, we have a heated contest in the NFL Survival contest with 4 teams left in the running to win 1300g.  Check back often for new contests coming soon.

United We Conquer

Let it be known that our friends and fellow C.R.A allies, Allied Mercenaries have merged with us under the Knight Club banner.  Let us drink deeply and sing loud in praise of this union!  We welcome all the brethren of AM and hope they find in these halls of Knight Club the same strong camaraderie and community as they had before.

Stromgald has welcomed Allied Mercenaries with his post and I charge all members of KC and CRA to stop by the thread.

Also in the winds of change the guild's Charter & Ranks have been updated to align with our raiding goals and accomplishments. Stop by and give them a read.  Feel free to comment at the, New Guild Ranks thread posted by Strom.

Summering in Ulduar

Posted by SaintnickJune 7, 2009 at 11:58 pm
UlduarThe long days nights of summer are approaching and Knight Club wants to know where you will be spending that time...  Choose wisely my friend as the C.R.A is advancing by the week through the giants of Ulduar and wants you to share in the rich lewts and epic adventures.  As new summer schedules in RL become routine it will be even more critical to follow the raiding schedule and sign up early when possible (*cough* load the raid calendar, Strom *cough*).

When you arrive at that snowy lodge up in Storm Peaks check your ego at the front desk, order up a cooler of flasks, and make sure to unpack your "A" game. We're going going to trash this room like the Who and the Lich King is picking up the bill...

Welcome to Knight Club

Thanks for stopping by and visiting the halls of our guild, Knight Club.  Our website serves as our off-game respite to coordinate schedules, swap stories, and share experiences in our endeavors in the World of Warcraft.  We pride ourselves on playing for serious fun and accomplishment without taking the game and the guild too seriously.  Our goal of Knight Club is to continuously seek an enriching MMO experience while playing with good friends and family.  Our doors are open to players of good character, maturity, and a strong interest in teaming.  As with WoW's evolution, Knight Club has evolved from a mere questing party to end-game content raiding making certain that we never lose site of our casual nature and committed focus on class and gear expertise.  The better we are individually the more we can help and contribute to our fellow members and the progression of our guild.

What's In Your Interface?

Posted by SaintnickFebruary 6, 2009 at 1:40 am
So are you a purist whose WoW client has nary file out of place since your first install?  Or are you a die hard for interface juicing addons that enhance every aspect of in-game experience?  I would suspect you sit somewhere in the middle as most do.  You have loaded a few mods to manage inventory or keep you flush with stats on how wickedly high you can crit.  Maybe you have added a few mods for raiding or questing. Over the years with every patch our most favorite addons run the risk of obsolescence or incompatibility only to be replaced by another gem.  Well new to our Wowstead site is a recently uncovered feature for browsing and recommending addons, "Addons (mods)" link now in the top left gives you a current listing of mods to peruse through an integration with WowMatrix.

A request to the officers with admin rights, please visit the admin interface and add mods to the recommendation and required lists.  If for nothing else but to get everyone who groups together for raids or questing on the same page.

Desperado...

The Eagles were prophetic when they mused the classic ballad of the lone dark rider. One must wonder if they weren't thinking of what we now know to be the Lich King's Death Knight. The class, the character, the alt we all have immediately created seems destined to wander the frozen barrens of Northrend alone.  A lot of the Knight Club brethren seem to have a death knight rolled and some of the most stalwart and driven of us have leveled them to 80. The class is still a mystery to the Saints although I have watched them at work from comforts of my healing post at the back of the party.  What does seem to be common to this ilk of pale skinned monks is that they appear to command their fate alone.  Up till the death knights each of the classes although well rounded always seemed to flourish under the aid of a complimentary class where in the DK's are built to handle it alone.  To the folks who have raised up this complex class you are inspiring.  When all my 70's are 80 and well into raiding leveling my death knight is the savory dessert I am looking forward to the most.

Back To The Grind

Posted by SaintnickDecember 27, 2008 at 1:17 pm
This news is just a little late to the party as most folk in our Club of Knights have struck the level 80 bell with a resounding DING. In fact we did not capture who of our brethren did this first so please record that guild level achievement in our forums if dear reader that is you. Well, onward and (leveling) upward... So how do (did) you like the grind? Finding it somewhat nostalgic leveling your 70's can cure a bad a case of alt'aholism (at least for a month or two). The new content if it is nothing it is rich with questing opportunities with a lot of cut-scene and in-game lore iceing to actually cause one to stop and savor the journey to 80. Blizzard has engaged us and changed for the positive how we level, how we skill up, and how we spec by not only changing game mechanics but providing us new goals to aspire to. A veteran of WoW who has lived in its pre-expansions world through to the present might believe that in Northrend the great Creators got it right.

"meh", just the 2 copper's worth of the ramblings of an old dwarf who won't see the greener side of 80 till sometime in 2009. Let's hear it gentlemen, how is or was your journey to level 80?
